Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol at Sangamon Auditorium

Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol brings a musical retelling of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol to Springfield on December 21, 2026. Set in a Smoky Mountain mining town, the story blends Dickens' familiar tale with Appalachian influences and songs associated with Dolly Parton's musical world. It offers a festive theatrical outing for audiences looking for a holiday-season performance.

The production is inspired by Parton's East Tennessee roots and her long career as a singer, songwriter, and entertainer. Her catalog includes well-known songs such as “Jolene” and “9 to 5,” while her work has also reached audiences through film, television, and stage productions. The Springfield listing shows one event date at Sangamon Auditorium; specific cast, opening acts, and performance details have not been provided.
